MURDER/ARMED ROBBERY

Wednesday, December 05 at approximately 3:25 AM, Athens-Clarke County Police Officers responded to an Armed Robbery at Lays Shell Station on the corner of Lexington Road and Gaines School Road. Upon arrival, Officers discovered a Murder/ Armed Robbery had occurred. ACCPD Detectives and the GBI Special Agents are currently conducting a thorough investigation. At this time Forensic Units from both Agencies are on the scene. The victim has been transported to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities are releasing a portion of the store’s surveillance video. Both Agencies are requesting the Public’s assistance in identifying the suspect or any additional information concerning this crime. A GBI forensic sketch artist has begun work on a sketch of the suspect. That sketch will be released upon completion.
The suspect is as a Black Male, approximately 5’9”-5’10”, wearing what appeared to be a dark hooded sweatshirt, a dark colored mask covering the lower portion of his face, pants and dark shoes.

An armed robbery and two arrmed robbery attempts that occurred near the Founder’s Garden on North Campus on February 22, 2003. The gunman is described as mid teen to twenties, approximately 5’ 8″, with a medium build, medium complexion, and wearing a grey sweat shirt and baggy pants.

An armed robbery that occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. on October 8, 2002 at the Tate Student Center Bulldog Café. The suspects are described as: 2 Black males, Wearing blue jeans, 5′8″ to 5′10″ in height, One wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirt, other wearing light colored hooded sweatshirt, Both armed with handguns.

On 10/14/00 at approximately 3:10 am a female student reported that she was attacked between Boggs and Church Hall. The suspect is described as a dark skin white or possibly Hispanic male, with dark hair approximately 1 to 2 inches long on the top and short on the sides, approximately 5 feet six inches tall, with a small build and no facial hair. The suspect spoke English well with no accent. He was wearing a green knit sweater with a round neck, blue jeans and tennis shoes.

On 10/05/00 at approximately 1:45 a.m., a college aged white female reported that she came into contact with a black male near the UGA arches who offered to walk her home. The man attempted to grab the female as they approached Gilbert Hall on north campus.The suspect is described as a black male with no facial hair, approximately 5′8″ to 5′11″ tall, with a medium / muscular build, a medium complexion and short hair trimmed straight across the forehead.

The University of Georgia Police seek information regarding an assault which occurred Thursday, May 14, 1998 at approximately 3:45 p.m. on the fifth floor of Creswell Hall, UGA.

The suspect is a black male 17-20 years of age, 5′9″ to 6′0″ tall, medium-heavy build with a dark complexion. At the time of the assault he was clean shaven and wearing an untucked white tee-shirt with red, black and blue lettering. He was carrying a white towel with yellow and blue stripes.

$1,000 Reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of RAPE SUSPECT

University of Georgia Police seek information regarding a rape which occurred Sunday, April 9, 1995 at 11:00 a.m. on River Road near East Campus Road.

The suspect is a black male, 20-26 years of age, medium build, about 5′9″ tall, with a light medium complexion. A ski mask and knife were used.
